Hypnotherapy FOR CHILDREN in ZURICH.
GROWING WITH CONFIDENCE.

A GENTLE AND CARING APPROACH THAT HELPS CHILDREN UNDERSTAND THEIR EMOTIONS, EASE THEIR FEARS AND RESTORE THEIR NATURAL BALANCE.

A playful and creative approach for children aged 6 to 12

Hypnosis for children is a natural and supportive approach that relies on imagination and play, two resources children instinctively use to understand themselves and grow.

Children have a natural ability for hypnosis, as they spontaneously live in a world of imagination. When they play or tell stories, they already are in another state of consciousness (in another "world"), fully absorbed in their inner sensations and images. This state is very similar to hypnosis.

This is what makes this approach so natural and effective for them.

During the sessions, I guide the child through a playful inner journey, where they learn to activate their own resources - in order to sleep better, overcome a fear, ease anger, or cope with school-related stress.

Each session is interactive and personalized. I adapt to the child's age, sensitivity and pace. Through stories, drawings and mental images, the child transforms their emotions softly and naturally. They become the active creator of their own change, in a space of relaxation and creativity.

I also integrate NLP tools andconversational hypnosis, to connect with the child through their own words and emotional world. NLP help them see situations differently and strengthen their positive resources, while conversational hypnosis encourages relaxation, reflection and change.

The sessions are therefore interactive, joyful and effective, helping children build confidence, manage stress, and find emotional balance.

Hypnotherapy works gently and in depth, always respecting each child's unique pace. It helps children reconnect with their inner balance, understand their feelings and  activate their own resources to feel calmer and more confident in their daily lives.

It can be particularly useful for :

  • Stress, anxiety or fears (school-related worries, separation, nightmares...)

  • Phobias (flying, animals, darkness, etc.)

  • Overwhelming emotions (anger, fear, sadness, disgust, etc.)

  • Low self-confidence or excessive shyness

  • Concentration or learning difficulties

  • Sleep issues or enuresis (bedwetting)

  • Certain chronic pain or somatic symptoms (stomach aches, headaches...)

  • Challenging transitions (parents separation, moving house, arrival of a sibling, grief...)

Thanks to their natural receptiveness and imagination, children often respond very quickly. In many cases, clear and significant changes can be observed after just 2 or 3 sessions.

What happens during a hypnosis session for a child?

Before the first session, a 30-minute phone call with one or both parents allows us to discuss the child's situation. I answer all your questions, and ask targeted questions to help prepare for the session. Depending on the child's age and sensitivity, we decide together whether or not the parent(s) should be present at the beginning of the session.

The initial conversation

≈ 15 to 30 minutes

Depending on the child's age and sensitivity, the parent(s) may stay for the beginning of the session. I then continue alone with the child to encourage open and authentic communication.

Through play, drawing or discussion, I explore with the child what they are feeling, what they would like to change and what already helps them. This is a precious moment to plant the first seeds of change and naturally prepare the transition to hypnosis.

The Hypnosis session

≈ 20 minutes

Comfortably seated, often with their eyes closed, the child is guided by my voice into a pleasant state of relaxation, favorable to hypnosis.

Through an imaginary journey, stories or metaphors, I accompany them to explore their emotions and gently release fears or blockages.

At the end of this moment, the child opens their eyes feeling calmer, soothed and more confident in their own abilities.

DEBRIEF AND FOLLOW-UP

≈ 5 to 10 minutes

The end of the session is usually brief and light.

Younger children often simply want to return to their parents, while older ones may have questions or need to share what they experienced.

Sometimes we conclude with a drawing or a small game, so that they can put pictures on their emotions and share their experience in their own way.

After the session, a follow-up call with the parent(s) allows us to share what has been observed and answer any questions. Together, we decide whether a further session would be useful to support the child's progress.

The positive changes experienced during the session continue to gently integrate and take root into the child's daily life.

When hypnosis meets the body: the benefits of Chi Nei Tsang

Some emotions settle deeply in the body, often in the belly.  Children sometimes express it through stomach achestension, or digestive discomfort related to stress. In these situations, I sometimes integrate Chi Nei Tsang massage: a gentle, energetic abdominal massage that helps release physical tension and  calm the nervous system.

This approach works beautifully with hypnosis: Chi Nei Tsang frees the body, while hypnosis soothes the mind. Together, they offer a natural, reassuring, and effective way to help children regain deeper emotional balance.

Frequently asked questions about hypnosis for children

  • I work with children from the age of 6, when they begin to use and understand symbolic stories.

  • Before the first appointment, we have a phone call to discuss the situation and decide together on the most supportive setting for the child, including whether a parent should be present at the beginning of the session.

Depending on the child's age and sensitivity, it can be reassuring for a parent to stay to stay at the beginning of the session. This allows us todiscuss together why the child is coming, and to agree on a goal that feels right for the child.

The hypnosis session itself always takes place without the parents. This creates a space where the child can speak freely and feel fully themselves.

After the session, a phone call (without the child) is settled in order to share observations and discuss the next steps.

  • In most cases, as children respond very well to hypnosis, 2 to 3 sessions are enough to observe real changes.

  • Hypnosis is a gentle and non-invasive. After a session, some children may feel a little tired or dreamy for a few hours. This is completely normal, their mind and body are integrating the work done.

  • Yes, absolutely. Hypnosis is not a state of sleep and it does not involve losing control.

The child remains present, aware and actively engaged throughout the session. My role is simply to help them connect with their imagination and their own inner resources.

  • When a child expresses emotions through the body (tension, a tight stomach, recurrent tummy aches, agitation, restlessness...), combining hypnosis with abdominal massage (Chi Nei Tsang) can help release both physical and emotional tensions at the same time. This approach is particularly effective for anxious or highly sensitive children.
